Brooklyn Studios for Dance-Residency: June 5 – July 1, 2017 // Schedule

“It is our goal to build and share our model with other regions and creative communities. We are excited to partner with Spectrum Dance Theater to bring a cross-section of BkSD teaching & performing artists to Seattle for a 4-week program called BkSD-West.”

  • Brooklyn Studios for Dance (BkSD) is a studio space and social platform with dance at its core. Founded in 2015, BkSD curates pedagogy and faculty in a rotating curriculum, using studio as a connector of cultures and communities.
  • BkSD will coordinate a group of artists to offer their creative practices; sharing methods for training and composing, presenting in-process and complete performance works, and facilitating discussions on the role of contemporary artists and the impact of art-making.

The School of Spectrum Dance Theater’s Intermediate/Advanced Summer Intensive 

July 10 – July 29, 2017 // Schedule 

  • Cost: $400 per week
  • 3-week program designed to foster a deeper understanding and rapid growth of the classical and contemporary techniques most sought after in today’s concert dance artist.
  • Classes focus on technical forms including Ballet, Graham, Horton, and Byrd, while offering augmented training in World Dance forms, Jazz, and Pilates.
  • All students are assessed to ensure proper placement, and may be moved between levels.

Drama + Dance Camp: July 31 – August 5, 2017 // Schedule

  • Cost: $400

  • Taught by Bob Gribas and Spectrum Faculty
  • Students will rehearse and present an original production, immersed with acting, dancing, singing, storytelling, improvisation, and mask making
  • No experience necessary
