Simone Burnett is from Cincinnati, OH, where she began her dance journey. Simone continued her dance career at Ohio State University in Columbus, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance, with a minor in Arts Entrepreneurship, in 2022. During her time at OSU, Simone studied performance, intermedia, production, and somatic practices through dance. She has performed nationally and internationally, traveling for thesis research and dance conferences. She traveled to Salvador de Bahia, Brazil as part of the Dance Brazil Tour Group 2020 study abroad program, and to Reykjavik, Iceland in fall 2021, where she performed Daniel Robert’s recent Cunningham work Are We Ok? Simone continues to dance and teach, and is excited to continue her dance adventures in her first season with Spectrum Dance Theater.
