Mikhail Calliste, a native of Trinidad and Tobago, migrated to New York City at a young age and began his training at The Martha Graham School, later joining the professional training program at The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. After graduating from Talent Unlimited High School, Mikhail received his BFA in Dance in 2018 from The University of the Arts, under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield, as a full scholarship recipient. Mikhail has performed works by Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham, Ronald K. Brown, Mark Haim, Douglas Becker, and Netta Yerushalmy, among others, and worked with The Pennsylvania Ballet’s second company. Mikhail participated in the Ballet Preljocaj Professional Training Program, presented choreographic research at The National College Dance Festival, and continues indulging in movement creation. Mikhail is pleased to join Spectrum Dance Theater for his 2nd season.
