DROP IN’S WELCOME

Drop in’s are Adult/Open classes.  All other classes require enrollment for the full session.  Drop in rates are $15 for one hour class and $18 for 1.5 hour class.

INTERMEDIATE BALLET with Victoroia Pulkkinen & Adam Miller

Adam Miller, School & Outreach Director of Spectrum Dance Theater, trained at North Carolina School of the Arts and the School of American Ballet and was a Principal Dancer with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Hartford Ballet and danced with Pennsylvania Ballet. He performed as a guest artist in the United States as well as in Europe, Asia and South America He has performed major roles  in nearly all the great classic ballets, as well as works by many of the great choreographers, including  George Balanchine, Paul Taylor, Lucinda Childs, Pilobolus, Rudy Van Danzig, John Butler, Leonid Massine and James Kudelka. He founded and directed his own professional dance company, The Adam Miller Dance Project and is the founder of the Provincetown Dance Festival. Most recently, Adam was the Artistic Director of the Cirque Du Soleil shows, Kooza and Saltimbanco. He was Associate Artistic Director of Dance Connecticut and Artistic Director of Eastern Connecticut Ballet. Teaching credits include the North Carolina School of the Arts, The Hartt School of the Performing Arts and Vassar College. He has been a guest teacher both in North America and abroad, including Boston Ballet, Nashville Ballet, Lyon Opera Ballet, Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival, Basel Ballet, the Veroneszh Ballet (Russia), Milwaukee Ballet, among others.

Victoria Pulkkinen was trained on Scholarship at the School of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Banff School of Fine Arts and was the Recipient of two prestigious grants from the Canada Council of the Arts. She  has studied with David Moroni, Perry Brunson, Vera Volkova and Francia Russell. Miss Pulkkinen has been a guest teacher at the Goteborg Ballet, the San Francisco Ballet School and has guest taught throughout the United States. Victoria was a Principal dancer with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, First Soloist with the Hamburg State Ballet, and soloist and Principal Character Artist with Pacific Northwest Ballet. Her impressive teaching career expands two decades as a faculty member and Curriculum Supervisor at Pacific NW Ballet School and as a teacher for the Pacific NW Ballet. Victoria continues to teach at Pacific NW Ballet School, has recently taught at Cornish College of the Arts and teaches company class for Spectrum Dance Theater. The strongest influence on Miss Pulkkinen’s teaching career has been Francia Russell, founding Artistic Director of Pacific Northwest Ballet and former Director of the Pacific Northwest Ballet School.
